Welcome to the St. Francis School District!

I hope you take the time to travel virtually through our School District and see our schools and classrooms from a new perspective.

Not long ago, I was talking with a resident of St. Francis who has his children enrolled in our schools.  He asked me what we were trying to accomplish in the District...what our goals were.  I will admit that I was not expecting a question that goes directly to the heart of any school system.  I have given his question some thought and realize that every parent wants to know specifically what we can do for their child.  Will their child be an avid, accomplished reader and writer, gobbling up the printed words and perhaps, creating the next generation of poetry and fiction?  Will their child dive into the abstract world of calculus and technology and grow up to invent a medical device that will save lives?  Will the little girl who loves plants and earth science develop a new source of green energy or look at a field of wheat and see a new way to feed millions?

Will our schools create chefs, athletes, welders and teachers?  Yes, yes and yes!  As St. Francis is a small school district, we are able to know each student personally and establish strong, nurturing relationships, so that each child can move toward his or her own genius.  So, we do exist to educate our students, but to educate them to realize their own talents, strengths, and interests to be used for the greater good.
