March, 2010
Youth Art Month is an annual observance each March to emphasize the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality school art programs. Established in 1961, Youth Art Month provides a forum for acknowledging skills that are not possible in other subjects. Art Education develops self-esteem, appreciateion of the work of others, self-expression, cooperation with others, and critical thinking skills. All of these skills are vital to the success of our future leaders- our children.
The St. Francis Public Library has annually invited students from the St. Francis School District to display their artwork in celebration of Youth Art Month. They are also generous in hosting a reception to open the exhibition.
Opening Reception To Be Announced . . . .
Students whose work has been chosen for this exhibition have been notified by letter. The public is invited to view the work during the entire month of March.
