Welcome:
Hello students, parents, and family! I am extremely excited to experience my first year of teaching here at St. Francis High School. My name is Christina Cattey and I am the new chemistry teacher. I will be teaching three classes this year: Freshwater Chemistry, Chemistry 1, and Chemistry 2. In addition to classroom time, I will be available to students for extra help most days before or after school.
Background:
I graduated from the University of Michigan with a biochemistry degree in 2007. I spent three years working as a production chemist here in Milwaukee. After a decision to change careers, I went back to school at UWM to earn my teaching certification for chemistry and mathematics. I can't wait to put my real world experience to use in the classroom by helping students make the connections between the classroom and the outside world! I really want students to be able to see the applications of chemistry in everyday life.
