Welcome Families,

I am excited and honored to be both a parent and teacher at Deer Creek Intermediate School.  I began my teaching career in 1986.  I worked as the reading teacher here in St. Francis for four years.  I am now entering my second year teaching fourth graders.

I believe that all children learn, grow and succeed when given appropriate instruction based on their individual learning styles, levels and needs.  In addition, children thrive in a safe and structured environment.  Consistent structure in combination with reasonable expectations provides the atmosphere for creative thinking, academic learning and relationship building.  My classroom and teaching style reflect my core belief that children will respond to a learning environment that models mutual respect, a love of learning and a willingness to challenge ourselves to be the best we can be. 

I enjoy spending time with my family doing a variety of activities.  We especially enjoy traveling, camping, exploring new places and spending time at the cabin.  In addition, I like reading, writing, fishing, hiking, baking, running and being in the great outdoors.
