Dear parent/guardian of an 8th grade student,
Please look over the information describing the ACT EXPLORE® test. It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to better prepare themselves for high school and beyond.
If you are interested in having your child take the EXPLORE® test, please send him/her to school by next Wednesday (9/21) with $8.50 to cover the cost of the assessment. Payments can be given to the student’s homeroom teacher. Payments can either be in cash or in the form of a check made out to: Deer Creek Intermediate School.
Scores for the EXPLORE® generally arrive within 2 to 4 weeks. Upon arrival of the individual student result reports, students who took the EXPLORE® assessment will meet individually with Mrs. Tomchek to discuss the data. During this meeting, different postsecondary options such as college and/or the world of work will also be discussed. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend this meeting. More details regarding a meeting time will arrive after the scores are completed.
