Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am excited about this school year, and am very pleased that your child is in my class.  I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself and share with you some of my thoughts concerning education.  I am Mrs. Jane Perkins and I taught seventh grade at Deer Creek for nine years before moving to second grade four years ago.  I love working with children and I look forward to this school year with much enthusiasm.

My educational philosophy is based on each student as an individual.  I want my students to be successful.  I place high value on respect and responsibility.  You can help by letting your child know that we are working together, and that we expect the very best behavior and effort at all times. 

I will be in communication with you as I feel your support is essential in the educational success of your child.  A green homework folder will be sent home each day.  In it you will find assignments for that day.  This will also serve as a means for us to communicate concerns, compliments, or any other important information.  Please sign daily to indicate that you have seen it.  Working together, I am confident that it will be a great year.  Thank you for sending me your very best!
