Background:
I have had the privilege of teaching in the St. Francis district for over 20 years, the last 18 at the high school. Prior to my experience here I taught in Cedarburg, WI, Menominee, WI, Ft. Morgan, CO, and Wisconsin Lutheran High School.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Wisconsin State University, LaCrosse, in 1968. Since then I've taken classes at a variety of schools in psychology, special needs, technology, and school-to-work .
My husband and I have been married since 1969. We have four children plus assorted foster children who have been part of our family over the years. They live in such diverse areas as Cudahy, Milwaukee, California, North Carolina, and Warwick, England, so we have plenty of places to visit. Presently we have 11 grand children ranging in age from less than one year to 27 years old. My hobbies include gardening, reading, camping, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with grand kids.
Welcome to Parents and Family Members:
In my biology classes, a student doesn't just learn biology. I stress life skills and school-to-work connections. Some of those skills include punctuality, a good work ethic (including completing every assignment on time), showing respect toward self and others and taking responsibility for choices made. Behavior is a choice, and all choices have consequences. I also stress the importance of following directions carefully. I don't believe in giving students "busy work" and therefore try to make every activity and assignment useful or practical in some way. I look forward to working with you to help your child become the self sufficient, independent ,adult citizen we want them to become.
