¡Bienvenidos a la clase de Español! This is my fourth year teaching at St. Francis High School. Before this, I taught in the Wauwatosa School District for two years. Along with teaching Spanish, I also lead the International Club with my colleague, Profe Hanlon.
In 2005, I received my Bachelor's Degree from St. Norbert College in Elementary Education and Spanish. I graduated in May of 2009 with my Master Degree in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University.
Spanish is such an important language to know, both in our Mariner community and also as our students head outside of town. It is all around us, and therefore it is my intent to open up the minds of our students to not only the possibilities available to them through their use of Spanish, but also the amazing culture that exists throughout Spanish-speaking communities.
I currently teach Level 1 and Level 3 Spanish. Each of these classes involves culture, communication, language, speaking, and writing skills. We work through many projects, skits, and literature to guide us along the way. Participation is extremely important, especially with another language. There are also many technological opportunities available to us through the use of the Internet.
I am available every morning before school, and most days after school. With the use of this website, I will also be available in the evenings for questions through the blog, wiki, or through email. If you ever have questions about any of these functions, please do not hesitate to call!
I look forward to this great adventure! If any parent or guardian out there has any experiences or is a native speaker, we would love for you to share with us! Your knowledge and experiences are invaluable to us!
¡Hasta pronto!
