News from the Prairie

The prairie is full of the sounds of birds and insects. Flocks of goldfinch and other birds such as chickadees, cardinals, robins, and sparrows can be seen in the trees and feeding on the seeds in the grasses and wildflowers. Many insects can be heard such as crickets and bees as they move through the plants. The prairie plants are very tall and many are still in bloom.

It is a pleasure to walk through this wild place that is right in the middle of the school grounds.

There are many wildflowers and native grasses
that grow in the prairie. As the seasons change,
so does the beauty of this natural wonderland.
