My name is Kelli Krall. I am proud to be a sixth grade teacher at Deer Creek Intermediate. I teach the language arts and reading subject areas for our three class sections.
I graduated with honors from Marquette University-Milwaukee with a bachelor's degree in Education and English. I am a member of Sigma Tau Delta, Marquette's English Honor Society. I earned a master's degree from The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a focus area(s) on language arts/reading, educational psychology, and technology. I am currently taking courses in reading and teacher leadership. My thesis research was on the effective use of technology within a genre-based reading and writing workshop program.
I have been an adjunct professor for Marian University for over five years; I teach Professional Composition and Research Writing, Genres in Literature, and a Capstone Portfolio course for graduating seniors. Students in this program are earning bachelor's degrees in business.
One of my dreams is to be an author of teen fantasy fiction. I enjoy READING, rose/perennial gardening, walking and hiking, acrylic painting, and knitting.
I enjoy reading and helping students learn the joy in finding a book that is just right for them. Reading in my classroom is a unique and refreshing experience. Welcome to the pages of sixth grade!
