Dear families,

It is such an exciting time of the year!  It is with great anticipation that I greet the new school year.  Each class offers me the opportunity to development my skills as a teacher as I reach each child and their particular way of learning.  I know all of us will grow and become a unified class as we learn to respect each other and develop our friendships. 

Our second grade year will have a full curriculum of literacy,  math, science and social studies.  Reading is woven in and out of each subject and therefore it is a crucial component in our learning.  My reading program is balanced among reading, writing, listening, and presenting. In the area of math, we will continue with the Everyday Math Series that our district uses. Please plan on sharing time with you child when they bring home the Math Home Links Red Folder.  Enjoy the math activities and return the folder to school in order for it to be filled with new math sheets and games.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you and becoming a special part of your child"s life.  I know we will have an exciting year that will be filled with learning and laughter and I know that before we know the year will have passed too quickly and it will be time for more adventures.
