Welcome Students and Parents!!!

My name is Sarah Huyck, and this is my first year teaching at Deer Creek. My previous experience includes teaching at a school in Wauwatosa for four years. I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, in Elementary Education and Special Education: Learning Disabilities and Emotional Behavioral Disorders.

I was born and raised in Milwaukee, and have always loved the city. I enjoy traveling, and was able to assist at a school in Scotland while I was studying abroad in college. I also enjoy playing tennis and soccer, scrapbooking, photography, and spending time with my family and friends.

I have high expectations for all of my students, and I believe all students can be successful. No one student learns the same way, and I enjoy finding out which strategies work best for each individual student. I feel that having an open line of communication with families is critical for the overall success of your student.
