Reading Teacher grades 3-5

Welcome Parents and Students!!  My name is Terri Nysse.  I am the 3rd grade Reading Teacher at Willow Glen and 4th-5th grade Reading Teacher at Deer Creek.  I have spent the last seven years as a 5th grade classroom teacher both at Willow Glen and at Deer Creek, as well as a kindergarten teacher at Willow Glen before that.  I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a degree in Elementary Education in 1998.  I received my master's degree in Reading this past May from Alverno College.

I believe reading is an important part of all of our lives.  Reading opens doors that we might have originally been afraid to walk through.  An important and crucial part of my job as a Reading Teacher is to get my students and all students excited about reading.  Excitement about reading leads to positive attitudes about reading.  Positive attitudes about reading lead to reading success.  The more we read, the better readers we become!!

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Ben, and our three children, Will, who is 6, Addy, who is 4, and Lauren, who is 2.  Our three munchkins keep us busy, but we love every moment we spend with them!!   We enjoy going to the zoo, playing at the park, taking walks and of course, reading, together.

Remember, we are partners in your child's education.  My door is always open.  Please feel free to contact me at any time.  I look forward to a great year!
