The Science program at SFHS seeks to: promote quality understanding of carefully selected concepts, principles and generalizations in science; encourage students to think creatively and selectively, observe carefully and recognize the universality of cause-and-effect relationships; cultivate and understanding of the major aspects of the scientific method and recognize the applicability of that method to many non-science problems; stimulate in students an understanding and appreciation of the wide variety of opportunities and requirements of careers in science and technology; and develop skills in applying the above understandings.
