I am ecstatic to get the school year started as Willow Glen's principal for the 2020-21 school year. This is my 19th year in education, with the past 8 years being in the School District of Greendale, at Canterbury School. Prior to Greendale, I was employed with the Greenfield School District. I've had numerous roles in which I've been able to serve my prior two communities, ranging from being an acting elementary principal, summer school administrator/principal, athletic coach, grade-level teacher, instructional coach, reading specialist, math coach, and literacy coach. Most recently, I've been able to serve as a virtual summer school administrator, and I think that helps me realize some of the challenges, yet opportunities, we have as educators in the world we live in. Our goal is to continuously keep getting better at what we're doing, learn from what we've done, and set goals to achieve beyond what we first thought attainable.
In addition to being principal, I also am lucky to be able to call myself dad and husband to an incredible family. I have 4 wonderful boys (Jacob, 19; Landon, 12; Carter, 8; and Hudson, 4) and an amazing wife, Rachel, who deals with all of the males in our household. However, we also added another female to our family this past summer. Nala is our 5-month old goldendoodle, who brings a smile to all of our faces each and every day. We spend many moments just playing and taking her for walks.
Finally, I look forward to getting to know all of my staff, parents, and students. The past few months, we've all been challenged with so much, but I am confident when we work together and look forward to the great things we can do, we'll be successful. In our work, we'll only figure out ways to do things even better. If we give each other love and grace, we'll be able to get whatever struggles get in our way.
