In March and April, Deer Creek 8th-graders are able to come to #WeAreSFSD high school to shadow one of the high school mentor students for part of the day. This gives them a chance to see what is in store for them next year when they attend high school.

Summer Academy Intensives are back! ☀️
Students entering grades 7–9 have the opportunity to explore new interests and build skills through FREE Summer Academy Intensives. Offerings include:
🎭 Musical Theater Intensive: The Art of the Show (June 22–26)
🎙️ Podcasting Intensive: Find Your Voice (June 29–July 2)
🌿 Outdoor Explorers Intensive (July 27–31)
All sessions run 8:15 AM – 12:10 PM, and students can sign up for one or all three! Volunteer opportunities are also available for students entering grades 7–9.

When teamwork stacks up! 💪 These #WeAreSFSD 5th graders formed the ultimate pyramid.

Deer Creek is celebrating Black History Month as a time to learn and reflect on the achievements and contributions of Black leaders, past and present.
Throughout the month, students have been participating in activities and discussions that highlight history, culture, and community. Next Wednesday, our school will come together for a special assembly where students will share speeches, performances, and music to honor this important month.
We are proud to highlight our #WeAreSFSD students’ voices and celebrate learning and growth together.

The Kenosha Civil War Museum visited Deer Creek to teach #WeAreSFSD 6th graders about medicine during the Civil War.
